Fitbit versa 3 vs inspire 25/8/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If you, like us, were left a bit cold by the Versa 2, well the Versa 3 is pretty much what the 2 should have been, mostly due to the inclusion of onboard GPS. The Fitbit Sense will be available in South Africa this October for R7 999 in carbon/graphite stainless steel and lunar white/soft gold stainless steel. A free six months’ worth of Fitbit Premium is also thrown in for good measure. Built into the body is an onboard speaker and microphone to take calls and reply to texts with voice commands, and with contactless payments. Wearing your device when you are sleeping at night lets you regularly measure your skin temperature variation to see trends, versus looking at your temperature at a specific moment in time.įitbit Sense also combines all of the key health, fitness and smart features found on some of Fitbit’s other smartwatches, including on-board GPS, 20+ on-device exercise modes, SmartTrack automatic activity tracking, Cardio Fitness Level and Score, and advanced sleep tools. This new smartwatch also adds a new skin temperature sensor to detect changes to your wellbeing that may be potentially be a sign of a fever, illness, or the start of a new menstrual phase. There’s also a new Stress management score based on heartrate, sleep and activity level data. Fitbit believes measuring your EDA responses can help you understand your body’s response to stressors and help you manage your stress. Using the EDA Scan app, you can place your palm over the face of the device to detect small electrical changes in the sweat level of your skin. According to the company, the Sense comes with the world’s first electrodermal activity (EDA) sensor on a smartwatch to help manage stress, along with advanced heart rate tracking technology, a new ECG app, and an on-wrist skin temperature sensor, all powered by a decent 6+ days’ battery life.įitbit notes the Sense gives you insights into your body’s response to stress with tools to help you manage both your physical and mental stress. It’s specifically the Sense that has piqued interest, mostly because of the amount of sensors Fitbit crammed into this Versa lookalike. This week Fitbit announced three new products – the Sense, the Versa 3 and the Inspire 2. After Google announced plans to acquire Fitbit for $2.1 billion, the smartphone and fitness tracker company isn’t resting on its laurels.
